The Pacific Northwest offshore grounds are defined by a 10 to 30 mile run to the canyon ranges where depths change from 300 to 400 feet alongshore down to 4000 to 6500 feet quickly. Offshore fishing is mainly centered around the albacore grounds out of Tofino, Vancouver Island or Brookings, Oregon. Hot spots include the Trinidad Canyon, Gorda Valley, Guide Canyon, Vizcaino Knoll, Astoria Canyon, and Stonewall Bank.
